Bubba gump!
A bit smaller than universal Orlando, but that's to be expected. Overall very impressed. Would recommend.
If you're planning on going to Universal Studios, definitely explore the city walk after your visit. It looks gorgeous at night and lots of shops and restaurants.
Quite touristy with many American-like stores as you would expect in nearby Universal citywalks all across the world. Lots of quirky decorations and an assortment of eateries and restaurants to eat, although many of them are overpriced. Conveniently near the train station for easy access and beautifully laid out.
Offer switch for parents with small child so both parents can enjoy the ride. You can bring food/water inside the park. Food is quite expensive as expected.
Last minutes shopping place before going back.
Universal City is a free shopping/restaurant area outside the entrance of Universal Studios Osaka. You can reach it either by JR (Japan Rail) line trains which is free with a JR Pass if you're touring (and remembered to buy your pass in advance) OR you can take a ferry from Osaka Port if you're visiting the aquarium/Tempozan first. Universal City itself is free to browse around in with all variety of shops and restaurants from around the world. There is an arcade and a few hotels as well. The air is filled with excitement as you walk around; music from Universal films are in the background, and cute characters from different shows and movies are placed here and there. Even if you don't plan on entering the theme park I highly recommend paying the place a visit! It's a highlight of my trips.
It's great for families and kids, not so much for older folks. Much too crowded, it's difficult to get into the shops to buy stuff. The place is nearly always packed with groups of children in school uniforms. They seem to pack into the station and the shops by about 9 AM (about when the first trains get into the city) and line up outside all the restaurants and food stalls around mealtimes (noon to about 2 PM, 4 PM- close). Outside of those times, it's much easier to get something to eat although some places will close for preparation (like Aen Table, around 2PM-4PM). The McDonald's is incredibly efficient. Lack of English-speaking staff throughout the area, which isn't a big deal unless you need the pharmacy. 551 Horai is almost worth the lines.
Kind of lame American food and not so good Japanese restaurants - go to Namba for good eats. 3rd floor Ramen was ebilable, but that's about it. Gift shops have very little variety and poor selection - go to Dotonbori and do not waste your time here.
Food stores... Souvenirs... Easy to use.. Stairs.. 2 levels.. Many stores.. Wifi free..
We were pretty surprised that our 5 years old just had as much fun as we did. Turn out that there are many rides for Kindergarten and up. Snoopy indoor roller coaster was indeed the best one that my tiny human enjoyed the most.
We had dinner here after went to universal studio, it was good :)
Even if you do not enter the USJ, you can still enjoy shopping with your friends, talking over your favourite films. Must go!
Was stunning .
This place rocks. We got here in the afternoon and we really liked this place. By the time we finished from Universal studios it was night time and all the lights were on and it made this place look a 100 times nicer. There is so much restaurants and facilities here it's like a 1 stop shop. Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Leisure travel & entertainment with gourmet food & Fun
This place is nice. You can get Universal Studios gifts outside the park. There’s sooo many restaurants from Bubba Shrimp to TGIF and the Hard Rock Cafe! It’s a great place to take photos too!
An amazing place inside Universal
Fun and crowded place with many food outlets. Can feel the Halloween atmosphere with lot of young people willing to put up Halloween makeups.
Very cool. Over 60 places from food to shopping.
gift shops, restaurants & cafe
Nice retail and restaurant area leading up to universal studios Japan. Lots of tourists and tourist stuff. With a nice mix of Japanese restaurants along with many typical American chain restaurants. 3 levels of restaurants and souvenirs - sure to find something for everyone.
Lovely place to buy a present to my love ones.
Wonderful theme park and the great crew operating it. Everyone is polite and helpful even if they are not so well verse in English. So no worries about the language barrier. The rides are great esp flying dino and the Hollywood roller coasters. The Harry potter theme park is fun and entertaining. However the queues are long even if you go on a Wed or Thu. 70 to 100 min waiting time for popular rides. So express tickets are recommended. Overall a great park. Even better than the Singapore one.
My favorite restaurant is the Kushikatsu restaurant. It is a fixed price restaurant, you pick up the ingredients from buffet, and fry them by yourself. It is so much fun! Enjoy also the rich milk cream soft of your own making, pick up fruits from the desert buffet and make your original parfait 😃 Just be careful that the restrooms in the City are not available in the morning you will have to use those in the hotels. And the convenient stores here are all packed!!
My favorite place in all over japan. I come in mid april so not too crowded. Yasssshh
It’s so nice there. There’s a lot of stores there. A lot of restaurants and shops. You can buy a lot of souvenir in the Osaka Omiyage. We ate there in the restaurant there two times.
Nice ambient and good choice of food and shopping. The Little Osaka have variety of local made goodies you can purchase.
even at night the place looks awesome 👍never gets tired of returning ...
Food is simply wonderful n access to rail transport is great.
Better visit this in the night. There are some artist performing music, magic, etc. A lot of restaurants, shops that you cannot find in Osaka City Centre. There is a halal restaurant called ‘Red Lobster’.
Came here often and still enjoy the attractions
Great staff who went above and beyond to make me a vegan meal. The helpful wait staff handed us over to the manager Tomohiro Yasukawa who spent time with me and the kitchen staff to come up with a delicious vegan version of the fajitas and seasonal vegetables. It turned out amazing.Thank you to the team for a great meal for my last night in Osaka!
Plenty of food and restaurants. Something for everyone. Food is much better here than in the park.
Just ok. Hard rock was good… But there is a pizza place on the ground level with the absolute worst pizza and food you’ve ever had in your life… It might as well have been a hotdog made into pizza form the crust was very thin the sauce tasted like catch up the cheese was minimal and it had onions and pepperoni flavored hot dog basically
Not so crowded, leisure place to take a walk and shop here
This is a nice place to just walk and laze around before getting inside universal studios in Osaka. There are a number of good choices to eat and shop trinkets as well as buy some souvenir items prior to entering the park. This is where the train bound for Universal Studios stop. There is a convenience store to buy some snacks and water prior to entering the park since water is quite expensive inside.
Amazing place at night very nice with bright lights. Lots of stores and restaurants. The family and I ate at bubba gumps restaurant. I had the octopus balls, and we also ate at this pizza restaurant which was pretty good as well.
Many good eatery, fast food chains, drug store and convenient stores. Just next to JR. Crowded especially when near to closing time of Universal Studio Japan. I stayed at the hotel in this area, very convenient.
So many immersed real experiences here. It's highly recommend to buy a express pass ticket, otherwise you couldn't play all the games in one day.
The waiting queue for each rides was too long..around 45min-2 hours can't wait for it.. end up just watching the 4D shows n Jurassic Park show.. taking picture n buy souvenir.. nothing much, because the food also pricey n non-halal..not convenient for muslim tourist like me..
Love the area ,had lots to see and places to eat all around hotels look amazing in this part and of course university studios was very good .Had street performers at night even tho I was only in this area of two days would definitely recommend seeing this place.Really clean and tidy lots of shop to pick up souvenirs.
Great place kind people
One level below U. Studio in USA but still we love it
Great for the evenings after a long day at Universal Studios. Whatever you fancy to eat you will find it here, or there are two Lawsons to grab quick food to take up to your room. All in all very convenient!
Great place for family vacation, if you plan to ride all the attractions i suggest you buy and use the express pass because the queue for every attraction is very long
The best creation place in Osaka Japan
Good options for shop (GAP) and lunch/dinner time.I liked popcorn store, there's interesting options (chicken teriyaki as an example).
Lots of variety of restaurants and shops to spend some time apart from Universal Studios.
Lively and easy to navigate. Many economical food options.Eggs-n-things had a long line. So did the conveyor belt sushi restaurant.American tourists may appreciate the TGIF and Hard Rock Cafe.Mos Burger is a cheap and low end fast food joint. Many shops offer unappealing and repetitive souvenir and toys. Better quality than counterfeit products, but still low quality enough to turn me off from buying anything here.
